REGULAR MEMBERSHIP – includes current and retired Liberian journalists residing in the Americas who have fulfilled the membership requirements.
Types of Membership
INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS – The Association may grant International Membership to Liberian Journalists or former Liberian journalists who do not qualify to become regular members by virtue of their country of residence, outside the Americas. International members can attend conventions but are not eligible to vote and or contest for elective offices. However, International Membership shall not be granted to practicing or retired journalists residing in Liberia. But a former ALJA member who formerly resided in the Americas but has gained residency in Liberia is eligible to become an International member of the Association. International members shall pay basic membership fees to be determined from time to time by the Board, upon recommendation of the National Administration through the President.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS – shall be granted to practicing or retired journalists who are not Liberian citizens or descendants of Liberian citizens or Liberian journalists who reside in Liberia.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP – may be granted to individuals and institutions that support the mission of ALIA either financially or morally. Honorary members shall be nominated by chapters or any member of the Association to the National Administration for subsequent approval by the National Board of Directors.
