Alja President Joe Mason Thanks Members And Partners

THANK YOU

For the third successive year, the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas ALJA today donated Laptop Computers and Digital Voice Recorders worth thousands of US dollars to about 20 media institutions in the country, many from counties across the country.

ALJA is grateful to the following individuals who were instrumental in facilitating today’s donation. They include Mr. Thomas Doe Nah, the Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority, who approved our request for duty-free privilege, and the outgoing PUL President, Charles Coffey who assisted in this effort.

We also thank Mr. Malcolm Wleemogar Joseph. Executive Director of CEMESP, the Center for Media Studies and Peace Building for making his office available for the distribution and coordinating with the various recipients.

I’m also grateful to our External Relations Chairman, Charles Crawford, Assistant Secretary General, Peter Massaquoi, and former Vice President and Chairman of the Media Fund, Pewee Korvah Baysah for overseeing the distribution. Special thanks to KMTV’s Chief Executive Office, Randall P. Jackson for the coverage provided for the event.

Today, we also fulfilled our financial obligation to beneficiaries of the ALJA-funded, Joseph Teh Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Liberia for the current semester.

This is our biggest donation yet to the local media and I’m thankful for the support and contribution of ALJA members and our friends and partners for making this initiative possible.
